Hi, I'm Justin Strauss. My background blends scientific pursuit with deep creative curiosity. I'm a sociologist, computer scientist, epidemiologist, and artist. I live in the Pacific Northwest — because forests are my happy place.

I co-founded and run a company (Storyhackers) with my wife and business partner, Ritika Strauss. We have a portfolio of brands, ranging from research-driven consulting to meditation. I'm currently focused on building ethical AI research tools.

Creativity has always been a vital part of my identity. I'm drawn to the intersections of technology and consciousness. When I was a teenager, I experienced the internet's golden era and discovered its connective potential. I built PoetryVault at the time, a now-retired online platform where writers from diverse backgrounds could express themselves and explore ideas together — before social media became a thing.

I also spent nearly a decade conducting research and data analysis for prominent healthcare/biotech organizations. Everything from quantifying the comparative effectiveness of cancer treatments to developing clinical decision support tools and a natural language processing algorithm.
